New York is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut states and the Atlantic-Ocean on the East side, the Great Lakes and Pennsylvania on the West, and the St. Lawrence River and Canada on the North. The areas surrounding New York City are primarily suburbs and beaches on along the coast. There are a few smaller cities and large plough-fields north of the capital, Albany. The administrative center of the state is Albany, which is situated on the riverside of the Hudson-River.
